Rick Warren On KWVE

I can’t say that I am surprised, but I am terribly grieved. I literally have a tummy ache, and have shed tears over this news.

Again we see Calvary Chapel, not only compromising the Word of God, but plunging head first into apostasy.

In fact, this morning there was a Rick Warren video on their Facebook page with the caption, “If you have questions, call…” It is gone now. At least, I can’t find it.

But, you really can’t call and talk to anyone about it. According to a friend, if you try, you will soon see that they won’t take messages or transfer you to someone who will listen. They just get testy and tell you that they are only taking email complaints about Rick Warren. Go ahead, and try calling! It is good to at least try.

866-999-5983 or 714-918-6207

Here is their email, in case you don’t get anywhere:

The only thing left on the Facebook page is just the announcement from Monday:

As of this morning there were 77 Comments. I clicked on the comments because I wanted to read what my brothers and sisters are saying. I only saw 17 comments, and they were all very positive (2 were neutral). There are 60 comments missing!!!

Is the KWVE Facebook page deleting negative comments? I would have to assume so, since one comment mentioned “negative comments,” but there are no negative comments anywhere:

E.Salisbury says, “welcome, Pastor Rick! By the way, my holy comrades, he loves Jesus too and Jesus loves him. Pastor Rick is our brother in Christ. I attend Calvary and have been at Saddleback many times I do not understand this angry comments.”

So there were angry comments?

But now there are none?

This is a huge problem. If there were 60 comments deleted, that means that the radio station is silencing their godly, concerned listeners. Controlling the narrative.

So when people who may have a check in their spirit click to read the comments, all they see is “Welcome to the family”–they fall in line. They realize that only sentiments of support and unity will be allowed.

This comes on the heels of KWVE removing two pretty solid Bible teachers from the radio–Jack Hibbs and Jon Randall. These teachers were very popular.

People can’t help but notice this all talking place in the middle of some major internal/political turmoil in Calvary–Calvary Chapel Global Network (CCGN) and Calvary Chapel Association (CCA). Two different organizations, two different visions, two different directions–BUT, one body of churches. It has been quite a stretch for everyone.

It is clear to even the average congregant watching–if you don’t fit in with the “New” vision and direction–there will be consequences.

Your comments will be deleted.

Your influence will be diminished.

Your voice will not be heard.

Toe the line.

We watch our pastors play the “Board” game.

While the titanic sinks.

My heart breaks. I am not so much upset because Brian Brodersen has different theological beliefs and standards. Lots of people do, but I am upset that instead of doing his own work outside of Calvary, he is bringing division into a fellowship of churches (that while not perfect) have been solidly teaching the Word verse by verse in peace and agreement for a generation.

This man, who takes over the pulpit of Chuck Smith, saying things like ” I think you can preach the whole counsel of God without teaching all 66 books of the Bible.” (what???) And:

“You know the last 10 years of pastor Chuck’s life in ministry, um, probably almost every sermon on a Sunday was seriously a doom and a gloom message and it was basically the world’s going to hell but the Lord’s coming so just you know buckle your seat belt, hold on and we’re all gonna be out of here. And so once a month I would preach and I would literally get up and try to counter what was happening for the other 3 weeks…” (Brian Brodersen–bereanresearch.org)

He has no affection for the legacy that was handed to him. He is tearing it apart, instead of building something new. He is leaving a trail of marginalized sheep and bruised and disenfranchised pastors in his wake.

For those of you who may not understand why it is even a big deal that Rick Warren is on KWVE, here is some information from Moriel Ministries on the problems with Rick Warren:

MORIEL MINISTRIES – By James Jacob Prasch – February 27, 2013

Moriel & Jacob Prasch fully endorse the recent conference remarks by Paul Smith warning about the seriously dangerous nature of the actions and false doctrines of Rick Warren.

Any honest review of the irrefutable facts supports Paul Smith’s caveats.

1st – Rick Warren’s recent open equivocation on same sex marriage to The Huffington Post after being publicly exposed for two contradictory statements concerning California’s Proposition 8 fits the fact that Rick Warren co- forwarded Dan Kimball’s book ‘THE EMERGENT CHURCH’ with Emergent Church Guru Brian McLaren who last month performed the same sex marriage of his son to his son’s husband in a supposedly “Evangelical’ ritual. The contrast of the two contradictory statements would impress anyone watching them that Rick Warren is a double talking liar. In light of this equivocation on same sex marriage, it is now a public shame and a disgrace for any Christian pastor or leader to now sanction the so-called ministry of Rick Warren.

2nd – Rick Warren’s ‘Global Peace Plan’ calling for partnering with worshippers of other gods (whom Moses and Paul both identified in God’s Word as demons) in order to usher in global peace is the anti christ agenda for a false, Christ-less peace that scriptural prophecy predicts and warns against in the last days. It is a public shame and a disgrace for any Christian leader to lend credence to the architect of such a blatantly satanic agenda.

3rd – Rick Warren’s downplay of repentance in his Purpose Driven model is a false gospel. In any New Testament model of the true gospel, repentance is central, not peripheral and a condition of regeneration, not only a post salvation sanctification. The marketing psychology based strategy Rick Warren borrowed from secular marketing entrepreneur, Peter Drucker and various figures involved in New Age “New Thought” drives this point even further.

4th – Rick Warren’s instruction to ignore end time prophecy as a diversion directly contradicts the unambiguous commands of the Lord Jesus in The Olivet Discourse to Be Alert for the signs of His Second Coming. Worse still is Rick Warren’s “cut and paste” style of eisegesis translocating verses between New Testament books to make the text appear to state things it does not is cultic and heretical. It even goes beyond Rick Warren’s preference for Eugene Peterson’s ‘The Message,‘ which often bears no resemblance to the original meaning of the original Greek texts instead of preaching from The Word of God.

We thank God for the uncompromising courage and integrity displayed and exhibited by Paul Smith in his stance and we stand with his remarks solidly.

Anyone who truly fears God, believes His Word, and understands the irrefutable documented facts about Rick Warren can do no other. Rick Warren is one of the false teachers whom Jesus` warned would come to deceive the elect and prepare the way for the anti-christ in the Last Days. The proven facts examined in light of God’s Words can leave room for no other viable conclusion.

We will all stand before The Lord. Pastors will give account to Jesus for if or not they protected His sheep for whom He died from the wolves sent to devour them according to Jesus, Ezekiel and Peter and James tells us that teachers of scripture will be judged by The Lord more strictly than the rest. Let us all take heed.

Falling Short – Rick Warren
CWM.org [CHRISTIAN WITNESS MINISTRIES] – By Mark Mullins – November 22, 2012
Rick Warren has become a legend in his own lifetime as a result of writing the Purpose Driven Life which has sold some 30 million copies and the size of Saddleback Church which is some 24,000 strong. He has prayed at the inaugural ceremonies of Presidents George Bush and Barak Obama.

Rick Warren is considered to be a conservative evangelical holding biblical views on such matters as saving faith[1], hell[2](although Saddleback’s statement of faith is weak) and creationism[3]. It is this apparent orthodoxy in Rick Warren that has put many off his scent and led to his acceptance as a card carrying evangelical. …

Rick Warren and Islam

[…] Perhaps the most shocking of Warren’s errors is his compromise with Islam. Along with Robert Schuller, John Stott, Yonggi Cho and Bill Hybels, Warren signed a statement from Yale University welcoming an open letter signed by 138 Muslim leaders written to leaders of the Christian faith entitled, A Common Word Between Us, which was published on 13th October 2007. It claims that love of God and love of neighbour are central to both religions[5]. The problem is that the Muslim letter contains statements that refer to the false belief that Muslims and Christians worship the same God: …

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more out there about Rick Warren and his double-talk and false teaching. If you WANT to know, you will search it out and see. If you DON’T want to know, you will ignore the warnings. It is your choice.

We are nearing the end times. We are witnessing the falling away. Jesus says that we need to take heed lest we be deceived. People always assume that they won’t be deceived because they love God. But the Bible doesn’t say that. It says you could be deceived if you don’t love TRUTH. The WORD is TRUTH. If you are not standing on the WORD, even you can fall into deception, even apostasy. Even me.

My personal belief is that Rick Warren is a pastor with the agenda of the spirit of Anti-Christ. His global peace plan, his teaming up with false religions for world peace, his double-speak on Homosexuality, his seeker friendly, repentance barren “gospel” of purpose and humanism. So if his message is from the “spirit” of anti-christ–how much more crucial is this warning from Scripture????

The Great Apostasy

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ[a] had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin[b] is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God[c] in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He[d] who now restrains will do so until He[e] is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-12

They perish who refuse to LOVE the TRUTH.

There is no true unity of the Spirit, unless it is in TRUTH.

The SPIRIT leads us into all TRUTH.

KWVE is teaching the Bible, and then compromising and disobeying what it says!

  1. HealingInHim says:

“I can’t say that I am surprised, but I am terribly grieved.”
🙂 I echo your opening statement. It’s just terrible how Rick Warren’s ministry along with the Alpha Course have infiltrated my small community and caused all churches to become so ecumenical I often wonder why they claim to have any doctrinal differences??
    Weeping and praying.
The book of JUDE is warns us … vs4. “For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.”

  2. Anonymous says:

this post of your’s Last Hiker in itself is divisive and thefrroe makes you a weapon of the Anti-Christ. Surely there are better things to do than spread shame, blame and division. You shoudl really read your Gospels again.

    • I will read the Gospels again (and again and again). And thank you for your comment! I take it as a compliment!!!! I will divide on this!!!!

    • bryntjones76 says:

It’s only divisive of goats from sheep. Those who love the truth will be greatly offended by falsehood masquerading as truth. Children are naturally infuriated when someone mocks their father.

    • unworthy1 says:

It’s funny how those who seek to ‘reprimand’ always use ‘anonymous’ as their moniker.

When goats follow wolves, the end is destruction. The elect of God will follow Christ and defend His truth to the death if necessary. If that means we are accused of being ‘divisive’, so be it.
I recommend ‘anonymous’ look up the definition of ‘anti-christ’. It means ‘in place of’. Seems fitting considering this story is about a goat herder.
I wonder how ‘anonymous’ justifies Warren’s stance on homosexuality, or when he prayed to ‘Issa’, the muslim ‘jesus’?
“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.” Matthew 5:11

Where will persecution come from? The world? Perhaps, BUT, persecution against God’s elect will come from the ‘religious’ sect. Just as they persecuted our Lord, so will they persecute His sheep.

    • Nope, yours is the spirit of antichrist. YOU need to go and read the bible again.
      A few starters:
      1. We ARE to be separate from false teaching and teachers, sin and the world.
      2. Rick Warren is a wolf. See separate comment below. Thus, we are supposed to warn about him.
      3. We ARE supposed to distinguish truth from error.
      4. We ARE supposed to warn of false teachings, false teachers, AND name them by name. Even the apostles did that and we have the recordings of it in the New Testament.
      5. Jesus did not come to bring peace to the world. Jesus came to bring division. And thus, so do we. We ARE to bring division. Division from false teaching. Division from apostasy. Division between the sheep and the goats, truth and error, real and false. That is what the Word of God does, it divides. You either land on one side or the other. There is no straddling the fence.
      6. Rick Warren is of the antichrist spirit because:
      a. He promotes false religion
      b. He promotes sin
      c. He promotes unity with apostasy
      d. He calls the true Christians ‘the enemy’
      e. He unites with apostate Catholicism, false religions of all kinds, the pope, and separates from the protestant reformation by calling this antichrist pope ‘our pope.’
And the list goes on (see comment below).

It is peace with false religion and apostasy and sin that is the weapon of antichrist, and Rick Warren is wielding that weapon well. Many have fallen under its sway.

YOU need to go back and read this verse:
“But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished! Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but division.” Luke 12; 50-51
Not all that claim to follow Jesus are following the right Jesus, but rather one of their own making, like Rick Warren & Co.

  3. Martin Fell says:

I find it amazing that the ‘last hiker’ proudly promotes itself as lovers of and diligent students of the the word, yet are so devoid of knowing even the basics. You should know that to Jesus and every writer in the NT the ‘times of the end’ the ‘last days’ the ‘day of the Lord’ the ‘appearing’ ‘return’ of Christ ALWAYS AND ONLY ever meant the end of the old covenant and law of Moses fulfilled in AD 70 with the destruction of the temple. So all the passages about the ‘great falling away’ the ‘man of lawlessness’ etc were fulfilled over 2000 years ago! All the apostles were convinced and wrote that the ‘last days’ would close in their generation as did Jesus. To say otherwise is calling Jesus and all the NT writers liars and false prophets! The ‘last days’ might not have happened the way you expect it to, but it did happen the way they expected it too! Such a student as yourself should also know that the phrase ‘2nd coming’ appears no where in the Bible (neither does ‘1st coming) So the very fact you use such a phrase shows your lack of understanding.

    • Martin, you constantly come here to debate your Preterist beliefs even after I have told you I am not going to argue them with you anymore. Not only that, but you act like because I don’t agree with your eschatology, that you can insult me and say that it is “amazing” that I say I love the Bible, because I am so “devoid” of knowing the “basics”—as if Preterism was “the basics.” LOL

This post is not about the false idea that the Anti-Christ has already come and Revelation already happened (before John wrote it in AD 90-95)

It is about Rick Warren being on KWVE–Rick Warren, who teaches not to care about eschatology!!!!

Look Martin, we don’t agree. I am never going to see these events as having been fulfilled in AD 70 (because they weren’t). Please don’t keep leaving comments baiting me to get into this with you again. I don’t have multiple hours to run in circles with you, when neither of us will change our minds. I am sure you can find a blog that agrees with you, and talk about your beliefs there. Or another blog, that may disagree, but have time for debate. 🙂

      • unworthy1 says:

Indeed – it may be best NOT to let ‘martin’ continue to post and bait with his end time view. I do not agree with preterism at all, but I also do not agree with belittling others who disagree with me. Pride is such a subtle sin.

    • Please read this through, there are no hidden daggers. I say this out of love.
      Preterism is false.
The Bible teaches that the end times will happen just as we know and have heard. Those who turn away from the truth will never see this. I am ever amazed these days when we share a bible verse that makes a clear statement, blatantly, and those who have covered their ears from that truth will be in denial still!

      Here is the deal:

We are in the end times. The dark forces at work have already orchestrated about everything. The stage is set. And yes, the man is here. As Revelation 13 states, there will be a one world government, religion, and economy under antichrist. That has not happened yet Martin. The mark of the beast is on the way. The church has fallen away into apostasy, and many have abandoned the faith.

The one world religion is just about ready to be unveiled in a big way.
The one world orwellian government is working behind the shadows.
The church continues to descend into apostasy. They call it ‘a great awakening’ or ‘revival.’ They devolve into sin and biblical error. They flock to the new pope and rick warren and all the other pillars of apostasy. The church has become a harlot for money (you can thank rick warren and his friends for that one too). In Revelation, a harlot rides the beast (antichrist). But all of this is sold to the ‘church’ as ‘dominionism,’ ‘unity,’ ‘love,’ ‘mysticism,’ and all the other hallmarks of today’s apostasy in the church. Since the rapture is not pretrib, most won’t even know they are worshipping the beast because of previous deceptions by wolves who have carefully laid the groundwork.

But, the stage is set. Terrorism is on the rise and the world teeters like a drunk sailor, or a woman in labor as all around us the world is collapsing. One or more big ‘booms’ will be the final layer. They will officially roll out the new world order and claim that ‘all must unite’ in every way… or else. Those who refuse to unite with false religion, those who hold to the truth (those divisive ‘troublemakers’) and refuse to compromise in any way with sin or false religion or the mark of the beast… WE will be called the enemy. WE will be the target and they will come after US. Because we don’t love sin, we don’t tolerate apostasy, we don’t join in and just ‘bow down’ to their statue. Because we are loyal to Jesus, we will be called ‘haters,’ ‘extremists,’ ‘intolerant,’ and every bad name, and we will be singled out for persecution. And, I am honored to be in that group!

I tell you all of this out of LOVE, because I don’t want you to be deceived. When you see it all happening, then you will know, so don’t go along with it.

  4. Hi Hiker!

Here is that other comment about Rick Warren:

    1. Calling true believers ‘the enemy of the 21st century’; fundamentalists who believe the main gospel points.
’21st century’ is also ‘code’ for the new era, if you know what they mean by that… it’s not good.
    2. That believers who hold to end times prophecy are ‘not fit for the kingdom of God,’ when it’s the total opposite, and he is not fit.
    3. He spearheaded the ‘Chrislam’ movement.
    4. He supports the pope and catholicism in general, called him ‘our pope.’
    5. Is in on the NWO ‘peace plan’ (false world peace) that will lead to antichrist, ties with CFR, Tony Blair, U.N., and related comrads that run in that circle.
    6. Supports all things contemplative, yoga, new age, all of that.
    7. Is totally ecumenical.
    8. Is against true biblical teaching, only twists scripture to fit his agenda. I think he also uses the ‘message’ bible (new age).
    9. Is into ‘kingdom building’ dominionism (denying Christ’s return as our solution).
    10. Purpose driven harlotry.
    11. If you go to the Lighthouse Trails website and the topical index and search for him, there is more, as well as volumes on the internet.
    12. There is so much more, I run into it all the time and can’t possibly list it all.

On another note, I’ve been camping out on the following blogs:
Lighthouse Trails, Emergent Watch, Truthkeepers, and RatherExposeThem
They are making a movie out of TheShack (which promotes the one world religion, pantheism, and denies the need for repentance). There is also a new movie coming out called Silence which not only promotes contemplative, but also advocates what we know we can’t do: deny our faith for any reason. LT and TK above have posts on that, just wanted to let you know.

Thank you again for your ministry here, dear sister!
I know we don’t want to disallow dissent, but I would weed out the ones that are belligerent towards what you are saying and warning about on here.

  5. Cynthia Hoffman says:

I’m glad you finally woke up regarding Rick Warren, he’s been apostate forever and likely never was a real believer. About 4 years ago I discovered the pastor of the church I attended in the 1960’s was a Freemason. Then, I learned that MOST pastors today are Freemasons who use the pulpit as a vocation, but never a “calling” and are intentionally misleading the flock. I’ve been looking for a “real” Christian pastor/church for 4 years now, and think I might have finally found one. In the meantime, listening to independent Baptist Pastor Steven Anderson on YouTube makes up for all the apostasy I see today. Kind regards & God bless, Cynthia

    • I have never been a follower of Rick Warren, so I am not sure what you mean by me finally waking up to him? Maybe you are confusing me with someone else? Thank you for sharing that pastor; I will check him out. God bless.

    • Sergio says:

Steven Anderson is a deceiver. He hates the Jewish people and is a wackjob conspiracy theorist. He is also adheres to the KJV Only doctrine and all he preaches is hate. If you disagree with him on any point he hates you. He was also arrested for not submitting to the powers of the government. He is no example of a good Christian, if he is even saved at all. Stay away from him.

Hiker don’t check him out, you will be wasting your time.

Cynthia don’t listen to him. You will only be dragged into more false doctrine. I am not sure where you heard that “most” pastors are Freemasons (how much constitutes most? 51%?) but this is the type of thinking by people who think there is a conspiracy everywhere. Please turn away from this type of thinking or you will only be further deceived.

      • Thanks Sergio, I didn’t have any time to check him out, but according to what you said, I don’t want to!!! God bless.

      • bluecollarsaints says:

I had a similar experience to Cynthia’s many years ago. My church went through a very ugly split after a well-loved pastor was forced out and the new pastor, who was also forced out, began door to door evangelism. Both pastors also gave permission to my husband and me and another couple to teach the youth group about the evil of abortion, which caused a furor in the church. After we left that church I asked an elderly women who had grown up in the church if she knew of any Freemasons in the leadership. She said, “Oh yes, the entire governing and elder boards were Masons and their wives were Eastern Star. They used to talk about going to their Lodge and Eastern Star meetings all the time when I was young.” My own father in law was a Mason and he said they were told by the Masonic leadership to “go to church.” So I too believe they are in all the churches and operate undercover, moving into leadership positions where they cause havoc.

        • Cynthia Hoffman says:

Thank you BlueCollarSaints for your kind comment. Four years ago i learned that ALL my family are Freemasons and Eastern Stars. They are an evil, wicked group of people who faithfully attend the Protestant churches in their communities in order to have the church be apostate as possible. Sadly, I’ve discovered Baptist Preacher Steven Anderson does teach 2 false doctrines: 1. Once saved, always saved (read Hebrew 6:4-6 for rebuttal) and 2. the Rapture, so I won’t be listening to him any longer.

          • Sue Brickman says:

Wow, Cynthia… I’ve been a Christian for 47 years and have never known anyone who did not believe in the Rapture! They may disagree on when it will happen but all agree that it will. Did I not understnd your remark?

  6. Lisa Phillips says:

Thank you for letting us know.

  7. Dania says:

Thank you for your insight and for being a champion of the truth. We all need to keep praying for discernment and keep studying the Bible because anyone can fall.

  8. Wendy says:

I just read this and it deeply grieves me. I am very upset that Jack Hibbs was taken off the radio as he is, in my opinion, one of the most sound Bible teachers today and boldly speaks the truth. I’ve been attending Calvary since 1993 here in the Seattle area. We left Seattle to live on an island and now we have a small Calvary here. Yet I have seen something “different” in our church. And to be honest, it’s getting hard to go. I’m very thankful for an outside Bible study I’m involved in with some women and small fellowships. I’m just very concerned with the condition of the church (Calvary) that I have loved for so many years. Thank you for sharing this information.

  9. shortpolock says:

The movement that was Calvary is over.

  10. Ann Kankaanpaa says:

On another subject but related to Christians is this

How many of you know the neighbors on your street?
Out of the 10 closet homes to you do you know who they are?
    Do you know their names?
Do you know their phone numbers?
    Do you know their families?

i found out what my mom a wonderful Christian taught me the other day.

Know your neighbors, Love your neighbors.

90 % of my neighbors are not Christians.

I try to know mine and I pray for them.

That is what I try to do to be a Christian. I still like the simple song “This Little Light of Mine.” We may not be perfect but if they need a prayer I am there for them and they know it.

Just think if all of us just concentrated on the 10 houses close to us could we be Christs local church out reach?

We live in a different world from 50 years ago.
Most people I know do not know their neighbors.
I’m glad I do. WE are all very different but we all need love.
