The New Show– “Preacher’s Daughters”

There is a new show on Lifetime called “Preacher’s Daughters.”

Preachers' Daughters

It is a very upsetting concept to me.

As a parent.

As a Christian parent.

In watching the clip I am posting below, one quote stuck out to me–“No kid is perfect.”

Amen.

To that, and probably only that, I will agree.

TRUE SALVATION

A preacher’s kid needs to come to God.

They are not automatic Christians.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God

Often times preacher’s kids are expected to act like Christians, even without becoming Christians.

If they really were Christians, you would be able to see it.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

A true Christian is characterized by love for God.

But sometimes . . .

These unsaved kids are forced into hypocrisy.

Which is essentially sin.

Expected to act a certain way.

But it is only external.

Just cleaning the outside of the cup, while the inside is filthy.

Religion.

All Children are born sinners. Even when born into a ministry.

They need Jesus.

From the looks of this show, one of these daughters appears to have found this out and come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, as she is unfortunately having to deal with the consequences of her rampant sin.

The other two daughters, appear in desperate need of Jesus Christ.

Unsaved.

But if you watch this clip below, you may see that I am not arguing that they should be perfect. But that I am upset about something entirely else.

What is the world’s fascination with perverting innocence?

This is similar to the same sick drive that compels the pedophile.

Taking that which is innocent, the most innocent, sheltered, virginal and watching it become corrupted and perverted.

This show is the perverts fantasy.

A pastor’s daughter in the car with her friend asking what a b*** job is–“Do you blow on it?”

On TV???

A young girl with braces, freaking the mirror in her room, with a golden stripper bathing suit on–talking about wanting to be a porn star.

How old can she be???

And the official commercials show the preacher’s on their knees praying in the name of Jesus for their daughters to not turn into Jezebel’s.

The show highlights their preaching,

even showing a mom talking about sex explicitly from the pulpit.

Their own homes are not only filled with rebellion and lust, but they are now filled with TV camera’s so America can watch.

If the fathers are so protective of their daughters, why are they allowing them to be exploited?

Why are they allowing them to dance seductively and make out with boys on camera?

What about protecting their reputation?

Why are they allowing Lifetime to publish pictures like this on their website . . .

Preachers' Daughters - Coleman Family Photos

Christian Young Girls??? NO. This is TERRIBLE.

These girls are obviously not wise enough to protect their reputations themselves.

Does the fact that they are even chosen to be on this type of show, not reinforce the idea that this is somehow entertaining and “funny”

–pastor’s girls gone wild–

The parents attempt t0 spin it and say that this is a good thing–

Olivia says, “I honestly loved the reaction I would get when I would say, ‘My dad’s a pastor.’ And everyone would say, ‘Oh my God!!! You’re a Pastor’s kid and you are at a party!!!!'”

Her father dismisses those who might be critical of the show, “We live in a culture where cowardly people can become very brave behind a laptop computer.”

Is he saying that bloggers can’t have an opinion about the decency of his TV show?

Wow.

My bad.

“The Show serves to be an honest voice, about the trials that ministers go through, as they seek to raise godly young ladies.”

No. That is not what the show is about.

The parents are acting as if they are doing the world a service by letting their daughters look bad.

As if the Bible says, “Be an example to the world of what not to do.” or “If your family is a mess, then other people will feel better about their own mess.”

No the Bible says, “CLEAN UP YOUR MESS.” [paraphrased]

“The show serves to highlight the UNBEARABLE pressure of growing up in a family dedicated to the work of Christ.”

The PRESSURE of having to go to church and behave.

Oh my.

The PRESSURE of having your pastor parents tell you not to fornicate.

Oh my.

The PRESSURE of the church you go to, expecting you to be “perfect.”

Oh my.

Well, forget about what the church thinks, because right now the whole world has associated your daughters with porn and oral fornication.

You poor thing.

It has nothing to do with being a pastor’s kid.

It has everything to do with being exploited by a NETWORK dedicated to EXPLOITATION.

A NETWORK FOR WOMEN.

Lifetime . . .

That features movies like:

“Fifteen and Pregnant”

Fifteen and Pregnant (1998) Poster

“She’s Too Young”

About a 14 year old girl who feels pressured by her peers to perform oral sex on a boy, which leads her into more sexual activity.

“Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life”

About a 15 year old boy that becomes addicted to pornography, graphic S&M pornography, even showing it to other minors (his younger brother).

“The Pregnancy Project”

The Pregnancy Project (2012) Poster

“The Pregnancy Pact”

What do all these movies have in common?

Sexualization of minors.

Let’s ask an honest question.

2 honest questions.

1. Is Lifetime Network interested in presenting teenage girls in a dignified and respectable way?

2. Does Lifetime Network have a desire to present the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, as it relates to saving these young girls from their sins?

I would say, NO (for both).

Then why are these families participating in this craziness?

Here is my advice to these parents, although I am just a cowardly blogger. LOL.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.

You shall teach them diligently to your children,

and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:5-9

BREAK THE CONTRACT WITH THE NETWORK.

KICK THE CAMERAS OUT OF YOUR HOUSE.

LOVE YOUR DAUGHTERS.

PREACH THE WORD TO THEM, WHILE THEY ARE STILL AROUND.

AND PROTECT THEM FROM EXPLOITATION.

If you don’t, your daughters will just be used to justify the sins of other girls across the country.

“If Olivia-Taylor-Kolby do it, and they are pastor’s kids, then why can’t I?”

People are watching.

Please pray… Please keep speaking out against these kinds of shows bringing a bad name to the body of Christ, to a world already programmed to hate Christ. God bless you for this article. I just watched 5 mins of that show and I am sickened and saddened. We are indeed in the last days, where anything goes & Satan is pulling out all stops against the Church, & Christians everywhere. Have you considered writing a letter to the Lfetime network, or to these ministers? This is very saddening.

Please keep praying. Please keep speaking out against these despicable shows. Unfortunately the devil is pulling out all the stops to bring down the church body worldwide and this is jut one of his many tactics. I came across this show, watched 2 minutes of it and my heart pained me. I am 25 years old and was involved in that party-type lifestyle that’s being promoted in this show, before I came to Christ. It pains me that supposed men of God are allowing the world systems to blind them and blind their families, while mocking the God they claim to serve. We are indeed in the last days. This is painful. God help us. Have you ever considered writing a letter to the lifetime network, or to at least one of the pastors whose daughters are on this show? I would do it even, but I’m not an American citizen & don’t have details about these people. It just pains me that nothing is being done about it, and their daughters all dare to call the name of Jesus in their evil & rebellion. God, have mercy on us all.
