I LOVE the Holy Spirit. I LOVE Him. I have nothing against the ministry and work of the Holy Spirit. He is the third person of the Trinity. The Bible speaks about His legitimacy. And without Him the church would be dead. DEAD. He was there at the Creation, He was there at the Incarnation, and He was there at the Resurrection. And because I am “IN CHRIST,” He is with me always.
He leads us into all truth.
He is our Comforter.
He comes upon us and gives us the boldness to share the gospel.
He indwells the bride of Christ.
AND He points to Jesus Messiah. Glorifying HIM.
So that is why things like the video below, really upset me. They make a JOKE out of GOD.
It is like making a statue of Jesus, dressed up like a clown.
The Holy Spirit, moves in ORDER.
The Holy Spirit, moves in Biblically established ways.
I do not see one instance in the Bible where the Holy Spirit ever moved in a foolish manner.
The video below made me emotional.
And you don’t have to watch the whole thing; it doesn’t get better.
It made me grieve.
This is so wrong.
I am so sad for all the people in that video who long for a touch from God, but do NOT long for the TRUTH of God
Jesus said that the Father is seeking those who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23).
TRUTH —alētheia–respect, that candour of mind which is free from affection, pretence, simulation, falsehood, deceit. Opposing superstitions, and inventions of false teachers, even among Christians.
He is not just looking for people to “like truth,”
But that their worship would have the quality of truth about it.
If you are not worshiping God in truth, you are worshiping a lie–
a different idea of God,
a god with a little g,
But the Holy Spirit is also named the Spirit of Truth.
How can you practice such falsehood in the name of the Spirit of Truth?
How can you do that without fear of judgement?
I remember Moses got in trouble for misrepresenting God.
He struck the rock instead of speaking to it.
He lost his ticket to the promised land.
He misrepresented God.
“Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall
not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.” Numbers 20:11
He struck the rock.
It wasn’t that Moses disobeyed the instructions, it wasn’t that he messed up God’s symbol of Jesus being the rock, it was that he misrepresented God to the people.
God takes that more seriously than disobedience and failure.
“Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment” James 3:1
Now, God KNEW Moses, and loved him.
Moses KNEW God, and loved HIM.
He repented and owned it.
And when Moses died on the mountain, it was just him and his God, sitting there looking at the promised land. It was probably a very sweet moment with him and His Savior.
But I have to wonder if the people below really KNOW and LOVE God?
And if they do, and I just don’t understand it, how they can be doing what they are doing without fear.
Moses stumbled due to his own frustration.
These people are not stumbling that way.
They are willingly choosing to misrepresent my God.
My [opinion] is that it is closer to the demonic than the divine.
My [opinion] is that these people should have a greater fear of God. The minister quotes Scripture; he should know better.
My [opinion] is that the congregants should have a greater knowledge of the Word of God. Instead of lessons on the Holy Spirit Hokey Pokey.
My [opinion] is that we who LOVE the Holy Spirit, in TRUTH–need to speak out that this should not be.
RETURN to the HOLY SPIRIT . . .
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” John 16:13
